Gaming Ping Test for India
Find out how fast your connection reaches cloud data centres in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Singapore and eight other regions, with a ping, a jitter figure and a plain verdict for each. It is an honest estimate: we time cloud regions, not the game servers themselves.
BGMI, Valorant and Free Fire are trademarks of their respective owners. We do not connect to their game servers.
Gaming ping test tool
- Close games, downloads and video on this network, then press Start.
- We time 11 cloud regions one after another. It usually takes 15 to 30 seconds.
- Read the verdict for each region. Run it again on cable and on Wi-Fi to compare.
Ready. Nothing is sent until you press Start.

Our verdict, from the median ping: Great under 50 ms · Good 50–79 ms · Fair 80–119 ms · Poor 120 ms or more.
Your network is shown here after the test.
Fastest region first. The bar colour matches the verdict: green for great or good, amber for fair, red for poor. The table below lists the same results with every sample.

How to read your result
Look at the region nearest the game server you play on. Its median is your typical ping to that city, and its jitter shows how much the ping swings. The verdict uses our own thresholds.
| Verdict | Median ping | What we mean |
|---|---|---|
| Great | under 50 ms | Your connection should not hold you back. |
| Good | 50–79 ms | Fine for most games; in fast shooters you may notice it now and then. |
| Fair | 80–119 ms | Playable, but reactions feel late in shooters and fighting games. |
| Poor | 120 ms or more | Expect visible lag. Pick a nearer server if the game lets you. |
Jitter matters too. On this page it is the spread of the five samples (the 75th minus the 25th percentile), which is a different measure from the jitter in our speed test, so do not compare the two numbers directly. If a region's five samples are far apart, your ping swings during a match; the live ping test shows those swings over a few minutes.
What makes gaming ping high
- Distance to the server. For most players in India, Mumbai and Hyderabad answer faster than Singapore, and Europe or the USA are far slower. No setting on your side removes distance.
- Your home network. Crowded 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi adds delay and jitter, and an upload or game update on another device can make ping jump (bufferbloat).
- Your provider's route. Traffic to a nearby city can still take a long path. A traceroute shows where the delay starts.
How to lower your ping
Most steps come from game makers and Wi-Fi guides; the one marked as ours is general advice.
- Use a LAN cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. For games, a cable or the 5 GHz network usually gives steadier ping than 2.4 GHz. Intel's Wi-Fi band guide recommends 5 GHz and 6 GHz for gaming.
- Pause big uploads and downloads while you play (our advice): game updates, cloud photo backups and video uploads on other devices.
- Check for bufferbloat. If ping jumps only while someone else downloads, uploads or streams, test your ping under load. A faster plan rarely fixes it; a router setting called SQM usually does.
- Restart your router. Riot's network guide for Valorant lists it first.
- Send your provider proof. Riot suggests running tracert and sharing the result with your ISP. You can run a traceroute from a probe on your provider's network here.
Valorant, BGMI and Free Fire: what this board can tell you
Valorant
Riot lists Mumbai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney and Manila as Valorant's Asia-Pacific servers on its Server Select help page. Our board times cloud data centres in Mumbai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo, the same cities, but not Riot's own machines. Riot also says a party leader or a solo player can change the server.
Riot does not give a fixed ping limit: it says the thresholds for its in-game warnings "may vary per-region or patch".
BGMI and Free Fire
Garena's high-ping help gives no ping number, we found no official BGMI figure, and we found no official page that says which cities their servers are in, so we do not guess. The board shows how fast you reach the main cloud regions in India and Asia, which is the part your connection controls.
For high ping in Free Fire, Garena's troubleshooting steps are to restart your device, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, move closer to the router and restart the router.
How this test works
When you press Start, your browser contacts Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 11 regions, one region at a time. For each region it sends one uncounted warm-up request to the public DynamoDB /ping address, then five timed requests. We show the median of the five and the spread between the 25th and 75th percentile as jitter. A request with no answer within 3 seconds counts as failed.
In our test on , one full run made 66 requests and moved well under 0.1 MB in both directions, so it is safe on mobile data.
We time cloud regions, not game servers: a browser cannot reach a game's own servers, and we never connect to them. Your in-game ping will differ from these numbers, but they show how quickly your connection reaches each city. The times are HTTPS round trips, a little higher than ICMP ping. BGMI, Valorant and Free Fire do not publish a required ping, so the verdict uses our own thresholds. Nothing is saved. Read the full method behind the region board.
Questions about gaming ping
Can this page show my BGMI or Free Fire ping?
No. This page cannot reach BGMI or Free Fire servers, and we found no official page that says where those servers are. It shows how quickly your connection reaches cloud regions in India and Asia. The ping shown inside the game is the number that counts during a match.
Which Valorant server should I pick from India?
Pick the server with the lowest ping in the game's own list. Riot lists Mumbai among its Asia-Pacific servers, and if Mumbai is your fastest region on this board, the Mumbai server is worth trying first. Trust the game's number over ours when they disagree.
Does changing DNS lower my ping in games?
No. DNS only turns a name into an address before the game connects; after that, game traffic goes straight to the server and DNS plays no part. A faster resolver can make websites start loading sooner, which the DNS speed test measures.
Why is a nearer region slower for me?
Data follows your provider's cables and routing, not a straight line on the map. If Hyderabad is slower than Mumbai for you, your provider probably carries the traffic through another city first. A traceroute shows the path.
